“We have enough planes, we will bring you PiS scandalists”

The National Prosecutor's Office accuses Marcin Romanowski of committing 11 crimes, including: participation in an organized criminal group and rigging competitions for money from the Justice Fund. In the years 2019-2023, Romanowski was the deputy head of the Ministry of Justice, supervising this fund.

Romanowski has been wanted on an arrest warrant since Thursday. The matter was discussed in Saturday's “Fakty po Faktach” by Bartosz Arłukowicz from the Civic Coalition and Krzysztof HetmanMEP of the Polish People's Party.

– We don't know where Romanowski is. We only know what the picture looks like after a year of our coalition and a year of the new government – said Bartosz Arłukowicz from the Civic Coalition in “Fakty po Faktach”. He recalled that the head of the Government Agency of Strategic Reserves is in custody in London, the founder of the “Red is Bad” company was brought by a special plane from Dominican RepublicRomanowski “disappeared”, Wąsik and Kamiński were pardoned by the president, Minister Niedzielski was convicted.

– Mr. Romanowski is certainly very desperate. When I was going to this studio, I was thinking how desperate you have to be, at the age of 48, to run away from the position of deputy minister, member of parliament, from the justice system, from the police, from the services – said the guest of “Fakty po Faktach”.

– Just imagine what must have happened there. He is a relatively young man, said Arłukowicz, asking at the same time whether Romanowski “intends to hide his whole life.”

– This shows how important the issues we are currently dealing with – said the MP from the Civic Coalition. In his opinion, Romanowski would not hide “for a small reason.” He added that “we don't see such situations – when a (former – editor) deputy minister is wanted on arrest warrants – in Europe.”

– One last sentence for all those who still hope that, like Romanowski, they will escape today, or we will look for them in the Dominican Republic or Greenland. We have enough planes. We will bring you, all PiS scandalists, even if we had to bring you from the other side of the world, we will bring you, Arłukowicz assured.

– Let me remind you what Mr. Romanowski wrote on social media on July 12. I will only quote the first sentence: “due to the decision of the Sejm, contrary to the prosecutor's narrative, I do not intend to destabilize any proceedings or run away or faint.”

– This shows Mr. Romanowski's hypocrisy and cynicism. However, I am convinced that the services are doing everything to find the MP and bring him to the place where he will be staying in the near future. I suspect quite a long time – said Krzysztof Hetman, MEP PSL.
