Beata Szydło has recently shown her understandable bitterness and I agree with her on this point. In politics, especially in the situation we are in now, there is no room for some behind-the-scenes, anonymous accusations – said Paweł Szrot (PiS) about the former prime minister's post after reports that she may lose her position as vice-president of the party. Zbigniew Kuźmiuk (PiS) stated that the party “cannot afford any moves that would get rid of incredibly important people from the management”. – It's a pity for Beata, because she is a very valuable person – commented Krzysztof Ardanowski on TVN24.
Beata Szydło wrote on Monday on the X website that her opponents in Law and Justice should speak openly about wanting to remove her from the position of party vice president. The entry is a reaction to unofficial information that she would lose her position in the PiS leadership at the PiS congress in September.
Scrap: There is no room for behind-the-scenes, anonymous accusations
– Ms. Beata Szydło has recently shown her understandable, otherwise bitterness and I agree with her in this respect. In politics, especially in the situation we are in now, there is no place for behind-the-scenes, anonymous accusations. If someone has some serious political accusations, let them endorse them with their own face and name – said Paweł Szrot from Law and Justice.
When asked who could have allegations regarding Beata Szydło's activities, the MP said that he “would not undertake to decide on that”. – Besides, it would be just my guess – said Szrot.
Kuźmiuk: we cannot afford to get rid of extremely important people
Zbigniew Kuźmiuk from Law and Justice said that “as in every party, there are some emotions”. – People are only human and sometimes they show these emotions in public, but nothing like that happens. We are preparing for a congress, which according to what is shown in the media, is to change the statute of our party. In connection with this, the way the party is managed is to change and perhaps this arouses some emotions, but I do not think that there will be a situation where any of the important people for our party will be omitted in these new authorities – said the MP.
– We simply cannot afford it. We are in opposition, we are under fire from the current government, who are trying not only to deprive us of financial resources, but perhaps even to delegalize us. Therefore, I believe that we cannot afford any moves that would get rid of people from the leadership of our party who are incredibly important to the party. I mean here, first of all, Prime Minister Beata Szydło – added Kuźmiuk.
“It's a pity about Beata, because she is a very valuable person”
The situation in the PiS leadership was also commented on Wednesday on TVN24 by PiS MP Krzysztof Ardanowski. – I believe that she was largely the face of Law and Justice's successes – he assessed.
– I don't know what's going on. Maybe she had her own opinion, at least for a moment, maybe in Małopolska, because each MP treats his province a bit like a fortress. Maybe she felt threatened. I didn't even analyze it in detail, but the fact that she dared to have even a slightly different opinion than the president, would have sparked a vendetta and she should be destroyed. And it's a pity for Beata, because she is a very valuable person – he commented.
Is Szydło going to lose his position as party vice-president?
On Monday, “Rzeczpospolita” reported that Law and Justice is preparing for the presidential election. There is to be a reorganization, as a result of which the current vice-presidents Beata Szydło and Antoni Macierewicz may lose their positions.
Last week, Wirtualna Polska wrote that for the party's chairman Jaroslaw Kaczynski it is unacceptable that out of six PiS vice-presidents, three are MEPs and work in Brussels and Strasbourg – this group includes Joachim Brudziński, Mariusz Kaminski and Beata Szydlo.
As reported by “WP”, Kaczyński, after the announcement of the unofficial results of the European Parliament elections, told his associates at Nowogrodzka that the party requires changes and reorganization.
Szydło spoke out
“If you don't want me in the PiS leadership so much, then say it publicly, and don't run around anonymously whispering to journalists. Courage, gentlemen!” Szydło wrote on Monday on Platform X, referring to the reports.
PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek also commented on the matter on Monday evening. He wrote that media reports on the matter are false.
“In connection with the media revelations, on behalf of the PiS leadership I would like to point out that no one has ever raised the issue of removing Prime Minister Beata Szydło and Minister Antoni Macierewicz from their positions as party vice-presidents,” Bochenek wrote on Platform X.
