The President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelanski said in an interview with the British daily The Guardian that in any peaceful interviews he is ready to propose Russia to exchange territories and return part of her part of the Kurski region, which is controlled by the army of his country. He also talked about relations with the United States.
On Tuesday, the British daily “The Guardian” published an exclusive interview with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelnski. He referred in it, among others for potential peace negotiations with Russia.
The President of Ukraine reported that he is ready to offer Russia a direct exchange of territories, giving the land that Kiev controls in the Russian Kursk region. “We will exchange one territory into another,” Zelnski told Dziennik.
He added, however, that he did not know which part of Russia occupied by Russia Ukraine will demand in return. – I don't know, we'll see. But all our territories are important, there is no priority – he said.
Ukrainian troops, unexpectedly for Moscow, entered the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. “Our troops still control hundreds of square kilometers of buffer zone in the Russian Federation” – said the general staff of Ukraine a few days ago. The authorities in Kiev believe that the Kurski region will be an important argument in negotiations with Russia about the suspension of fights in Ukraine.

“Security guarantees without America are not real guarantees”
In an interview with “Guardian”, Zełenski also emphasized that for his country the most important thing is to maintain US help. In his opinion, the United States should take part in a possible international, military peace mission. – There are voices that Europe could offer security guarantees without Americans, and I always say “no”. Security guarantees without America are not real security guarantees – he said in an interview. The President of Ukraine also decided that it is important for Donald Trump to talk to the representatives of Kiev before a possible meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Zelanski – as “Guardian” noted – “he refrained from criticizing Trump for his unclear statements (on Ukraine and contacts with Putin).” “It is obvious that he does not want everyone to know the details, this is his personal decision,” said Zelanski. The President of Ukraine also referred to his proposal to provide the USA of rare metal resources in exchange for security guarantees. – Ukraine has the greatest reserves of uranium and titanium in Europe and is not in the interest of the United States that these reserves hit the hands of Russia, which would share them with North Korea, China or Iran – he said.
