The campaign called “Train with the Army” is a continuation of an open training program for every willing Pole from 18 to 65 years of age.

The “Train with the army” campaign is underway in Świnoujście. It's a real treat for civilians, and a daily bread for military personnel. – Instructors from all units of the 8th Coastal Defense Flotilla show what soldiers do on a daily basis – says 2nd Lt. Cdr. Grzegorz Lewandowski from the 8th Coastal Defense Flotilla.

During military training, soldiers, among other things, show and teach how to behave in a civil defense crisis. – How to be safe, how to feel safe, how to use the knowledge acquired here in everyday life – says Grzegorz Lewandowski.

Participants can learn the basics of weapon handling, survival rules, close combat and the ABC of medical assistance. – Since we are in the navy, there had to be elements of sea rescue. The holiday season is approaching, when people will spend more time by the water, so we want to show how to properly put on a life belt, how to stay in a life raft, how to throw a circle, how to approach a survivor – says 2nd Lt. Cmdr. Lewandowski.

However, this is not all that has been prepared. – At the beginning, after receiving occupational health and safety instruction, participants go through 3 learning points. The first is to participate in loading a non-floating technology vehicle, then storming this vehicle, i.e. securing such a vehicle against a possible change of position on the wave – says Capt. mar. Wojciech Zieliński, commander of ORP Kraków.

Then loading ammunition and learning about the types of mines. – A person who comes here actually receives a comprehensive information package and actively participates in the activities, just like every soldier in accordance with the alarm – emphasizes Zieliński.
