Weather breakdown in Poland. Dozens of interventions of firefighters

Today, there are violent weather phenomena in a part of the country. In the south of Poland they apply orange and yellow alarms before storms issued by the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management. Unloading is accompanied by heavy rain and hail and strong, gusty wind.

A spokesman for the Małopolska Provincial Commander of the State Fire Service reported in an interview with tvnmeteo.pl that in the entire province firefighters have already intervened more than twenty times. Applications concerned broken trees and flooding of buildings.

– Over twenty interventions are not much, but everyone is in full readiness. Here we are dealing with so -called instant floods, so there can be hundreds at any time of these interventions – said younger captain MA Hubert Ciepły.

The difficult situation also occurred in Silesia. The PSP duty officer in Racibórz informed that heavy rain and storms were passing over the city.

“Until 20:40, 54 events related to the afternoon intensive atmospheric rainfall were received to the management position of the PSP poviat commander in Racibórz. 31 Fire protection units, a total of 120 firefighters, participate in the activities. – we read on the profile of the PSP Poviat Headquarters in Racibórz.

Recordings of flooded streets and a hail of pavements have appeared on the web. Dangerous conditions occurred, among others, in Strzyżów (Dolnośląskie Voivodeship), GorliceNowy Sącz and Kobylance (Lesser Poland Voivodeship).

According to forecasts, dangerous conditions can also occur in the evening and at night. As Damian Zdonek tvnmeteo.pl said, in the Śląskie, Lesser Poland and Podkarpackie voivodships, the weather situation in places will be dynamic, carrying threats in the form of heavy rainfall (above 30 l/sq m) and strong, gusty wind and hail precipitation.
