The last moments of the old year and the very beginning of the new year will pass in more autumn than winter weather and at the same temperature. This is related to the inflow of warm, for this time of year, Atlantic air to our part of Europe.
However, it is worth paying attention to the high pressure growing over the North Atlantic. At the beginning of the week it will be over Greenland and Iceland, but in the following days it will move further south, which will block the movement of warm air masses from west to east and activate the northern, i.e. cold, circulation of Arctic air (see the map).

Weather forecast for 16 days
It will be warm like at the turn of December and January for a few more days, until Thursday. At this time, it may be up to 11 degrees Celsius in southern Poland. Later, from January 4, when Arctic cold begins to flow into the center of Europe, we can expect sudden cooling and slightly frosty weather almost throughout the country. The coldest, -6/-5 degrees C, will be in the east, and the warmest, around 0 degrees C, in the west and south of Poland. At night, especially in the middle of the month, the temperature may drop to around -12/-10 degrees Celsius.
