The weather in Poland will be dynamic in the coming days. There will be rain, sleet and snow. There will also be gusty winds, which, combined with snow, may cause snow flurries.
– Ahead of us is a period of changeable and dynamic weather with winter accents, all thanks to the deep Quiteria low pressure system. Its center will be moving from Western Pomerania, then through Pomerania, and further towards the Baltic States from the evening hours on Tuesday. The pressure in the center of the cyclone around midnight in the Bay of GdaÅ„sk will be 975 hectopascals, tvnmeteo.pl forecaster Damian Zdonek said. He added that it will then deepen further, and on Wednesday around noon, off the coast of Estonia, the pressure in its center will reach approximately 965 hPa.
According to the forecaster, on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, northern Poland will initially be within the reach of the warm atmospheric front. Sleet and wet snow are forecast, which will quickly turn into rain, which is the result of the inflow of warm air from southern Europe. – Thus, another front zone will move into the country from the west, this time a cold front, behind which cold air of Arctic origin will flow into Poland from the north. Rainfall of variable intensity is forecast on the front, and also sleet in the south of the country, and snow in the mountains – said Damian Zdonek. He noted that when passing the front zone, the wind will gust up to 50-70 kilometers per hour, and in the mountains up to 70-100 km/h (in the higher parts of the mountains above 100 km/h). During the day, mainly the southern and eastern parts of the country will remain within the front zone, where moderate rainfall will dominate, locally rain and snow, and snow in the mountains. In other regions, heavy cloudiness is forecast with clear showers and, typical of a cold, unstable air mass, intermittent sleet and snow showers. Residents of the Coast can expect quite heavy rainfall, where due to the additional influence of the Baltic Sea, rainfall may be temporarily intense.
The next few days will bring variable cloudiness and light rainfall, mainly snow. The wind will still be quite strong, gusting to 40-50 km/h, which may cause snow flurries locally.
Weather for Wednesday
Wednesday it will bring cloudy weather with rainfall amounting to 5-15 liters per square meter. This rainfall will turn into sleet in the north and west of the country and locally snow, with amounts of up to 1-5 centimeters falling, and on the coast up to 5-10 cm. In the mountains there will be up to 10-20 cm of white powder. Thermometers will show a maximum of 2-3 degrees C in Western Pomerania to 7-8 degrees C in Podkarpacie. In the east and partly in the center of the country, the highest temperatures are expected in the morning and will decrease during the day. There will be a moderate and quite strong wind from the west. Gusts may reach 40-60 km/h, in the mountains up to 70-90 km/h.
