The coming days will bring heavy rainfall and storms. – Flooding is possible, especially in foothill areas – warns tvnmeteo.pl forecaster Arleta Unton-Pyziołek.

Poland found itself in an area of reduced pressure associated with the Tina lows from the Mediterranean Sea and the Swantje lows from Scandinavia. – Between the centers of these systems there is a wavy atmospheric front separating the cool polar air masses over the Atlantic from the warm ones over southern Europe – said tvnmeteo.pl forecaster Arleta Unton-Pyziołek. She added that a cold fragment of the front is moving over Poland from west to east, pushed by air masses from the ocean.

In the following days, Poland will remain in the area of reduced pressure, in the zone of air masses clashing at the front and within the range of rain-bearing low-pressure systems moving from the Mediterranean Sea over the Balkans towards north-western Russia. This path of low-pressure whirlpools means that the southern, south-eastern and eastern regions of the country will be exposed to heavy rainfall from time to time and storms. Flooding is possible, especially in foothill areas.
