The unusually warm December weather has just come to an end. What can we expect on Christmas and New Year's Eve? Check the long-term temperature forecast for 16 days, prepared by the presenter and forecaster of tvnmeteo.pl, Tomasz Wasilewski.
The first week of winter weather will be spent in the presence of a vast high pressure, which is now over the Atlantic, near Spain. But in the coming days it will grow eastwards and will be over the center of the continent. Before the high pressure reaches this position, it will bring cold air from the north to us, together with the low pressure that will be over the Baltic Sea at the beginning of the week. This wave of cooling will flow even further south and reach the coast of the Mediterranean Sea (see map).
Weather forecast for 16 days. Weather for Christmas
In the coming days, including during the holidays, it will be the coldest in the east of the country, where thermometers will indicate 0 to 2 degrees Celsius. In western Poland, the temperature will be higher and will reach 5-6 degrees Celsius. At night, during longer clear weather, we can expect frost of several degrees.
Later, at the end of December and the beginning of January, it will get a little colder. In the eastern part of the country there will be a slight frost down to -2/-1 degrees Celsius, sometimes it will be frosty during the day. In the west, it will be up to 3-4 degrees Celsius. This weather will last until January 5, and then slight warming is possible.
The next 16-day temperature forecast is next Sunday.
