After Friday’s storms, Saturday brings peace in the weather, but as tvnmeteo.pl presenter Tomasz Wasilewski emphasized on TVN24, “he also has his time, already well calculated in the forecasts”. “There’s another gale coming than the next,” he said. It is to hit Poland at night from Saturday to Sunday.
The reason for the strong and gusty wind on Friday in Poland was the low pressure system that is currently located over Russia. – The cold front connected with this low was passing over Poland yesterday, behind which cooler air flowed quickly – explained in “Get up and weekend” on TVN24 the tvnmeteo.pl presenter Tomasz Wasilewski. As he added, due to the influx of these air masses, the Friday night was frosty.
Saturday’s calm in the weather is due to the high pressure system located in Western Europe. The first day of the weekend is sunny in various parts of the country. However, as Wasilewski emphasized, “this peace will not last forever, he also has his own time, already well calculated in the forecasts”.
“Another storm” is heading for Poland
He added that the weather would change from Sunday to Monday. Why? – Near Iceland, over the North Atlantic, there is a lower (…) and another storm associated with this low – said the presenter. As he explained, this pressure system will shift to the southeast, towards our country.
Initially, the next night it is to blow strongly over the sea, and on Monday, violent weather is expected throughout Poland. “There is another storm coming from the northwest than the next,” emphasized Wasilewski.
In Spain, the winter temperature
This pressure system over Europe is also responsible for the influx of extremely cold air over the Iberian Peninsula. As the tvnmeteo.pl presenter said, on Saturday morning in central Spain, the thermometers showed as high as -9 degrees Celsius, and in the south there were places to 3 degrees of frost. It was even colder in the early morning the day before. In the provinces of Cuenca and Guadalajara the minimum temperature was -10 degrees Celsius.
As Wasilewski explained, the high that brought about an improvement in the weather in Poland on Saturday, earlier, together with the low from Russia, brought cold air to the Iberian Peninsula from the north and north-east of the continent. However, than at the Atlantic Ocean, it brings heat towards the British Isles and southern Scandinavia, bypassing Spain.
