The weather will be capricious in the next few days. Before the end of the week, thanks to the Katrin low, wet snowfall and strong wind gusts will enter Poland. The weather will start to change on Sunday. The forecast for next week shows that winter will take a break.
– Poland is still under the influence of the low pressure from eastern Europe. The front associated with it will bring snowfall to the east and southeast of the country on the night from Thursday to Friday. Behind the front, cold polar air flowed from the north – says tvnmeteo.pl forecaster Arleta Unton-Pyziołek.
On Friday, Poland will fall under the influence of the Katrin low pressure system with its center located over southern Scandinavia.
– A warm atmospheric front will enter the country with a wide zone of clouds and wet snow, turning into rain. Warm polar air will also flow from the west. Only the eastern and south-eastern parts of Poland will remain ahead of the front, in a colder air mass – adds the forecaster.
Weather for Friday
On Friday, it will be cloudy with showers in the east and south-east of the country, light snowfall is possible in Podkarpacie. The rest of Poland will be cloudy. Rain, sleet and rain (up to 10 liters per square meter) will move from the west into the country. Thermometers will show from 1 degree Celsius in Podlasie and the Lublin region, through 4 degrees Celsius in the center of the country, to 8-9 degrees C in the Lubuskie Province and Lower Silesia. The wind will blow from the west and will be moderate and quite strong. In gusts, its speed will be 60-80 kilometers per hour, and on the coast even 90 km/h.
Weather for the weekend
On Saturday, the warm front will move away from Poland and a cold front will take its place. A zone of thick clouds will move over the eastern regions of the country, and the rain will turn into wet snow and sleet. Another portion of cold polar air will flow from the north.
In the west on Saturday, it will be cloudy, but there will be a chance for clearer weather. In other regions, we will have a cloudy day with snowfall of 1-5 centimeters and snow with rain up to 5 l/sq m. The temperature will range from 2 degrees C in Podlasie and the Lublin region, through 4 degrees C in the center of the country, to 7 degrees C in the Lubusz region, Pomerania, Kujawy and Greater Poland. The west and north-west wind, moderate and quite strong, will gust up to 60-80 km/h.
On Sunday, high pressure will cover central Europe, bringing a decrease in rainfall and clearing. He will remain in this region of the continent for several days. The high will allow warm air to flow in from the southwest, from Spain. We will not experience winter in the next week.
There will be a lot of cloud cover on Sunday, with clear showers. The thermometers will show from 3 degrees C in Podlasie, through 4 degrees C in the center of the country, to 6 degrees C in the southwest. Variable light and moderate winds will blow.
What will the beginning of the new week bring? Even 9 degrees
Monday promises to be cloudy with showers in the southeast. Light rain is forecast in places in Pomerania and in the center. Thermometers will indicate from 4 degrees C in Podlasie, through 5 degrees C in the center of the country, to 9 degrees C in Lower Silesia. The wind will be southwesterly, moderate, sometimes quite strong in the north, gusting to 50-60 km/h.
On Tuesday, it will remain mostly cloudy, but there will be a chance for more sunshine. The temperature will range from 3 degrees C in Warmia and Podlasie, through 6 degrees C in the center of the country, to 8 degrees C in Lower Silesia. There will be a light and moderate north-easterly wind.
