The weather this week will be dynamic. Initially, the aura will be affected by a high, bringing sunny moments across most of the country on Thursday. Then there’s a drastic change. Rain will fall across Poland and winds will intensify, up to 80 kilometers per hour. The temperature will remain high for this time of year.

Over the next 24 hours, Poland will remain under the influence of the extensive Feuka high-pressure system covering the central and southern part of Europe. This high brings to our country warm air masses from the south of the continent. Their source area is the Iberian Peninsula. However, the stream of warm air does not flow directly to us, but travels through France, the North Sea and the Danish and Baltic Straits, absorbing large doses of moisture along the way, which is manifested mainly by low cloud cover over Poland, informs tvnmeteo.pl weather forecaster Daniel Kowalczyk.

Still cloudy on Tuesday

In Tuesday it will be cloudy with clearing up Masuria and Podlasie. Locally, especially in the south-east of the country, there may be light rain or drizzle. The maximum temperature will be from 4 degrees C in Lesser Poland, through 5-6 degrees C in the center, to 8 degrees C in the west of the country. The wind blows weakly and moderately from the west.

A chance for more sun on Wednesday and Thursday

As the weather forecaster explains, more clear-up will appear on Wednesday and Thursday in southern and central Poland, when the center of the high-pressure center will move over the Balkans, and warm and dry air will begin to reach us directly from southern Europe.

Wednesday in the southern regions of the country it will be marked by sunny weather. The rest of the country will be cloudy with showers. Thermometers will show a maximum of 3 degrees C in the Suwałki region, through 6 degrees C in the center of the country, to 9 degrees C in the west. The wind will be light and variable.

Thursday it promises to be generally clear everywhere, only in the northern regions there will be more clouds in the sky and there may be light rain in some places. On thermometers we will see a maximum of 4 degrees C in Podlasie, through 7 degrees C in the center of the country, up to 10 degrees C in Lower Silesia. There will be light to moderate westerly winds.

Strong winds and rain on Friday and Saturday

The next day, from the north-west, atmospheric fronts related to the so-called diving low – formed in the North Atlantic Ocean and quickly moving through Scandinavia and Central Europe to the south-east of the continent – will enter Poland from the north-west.

Friday will pass with rainfall of 5-10 liters per square meter, locally up to 15 liters per square meter, moving from the west to the east of the country. The maximum temperature will reach from 5 degrees C in Podlasie, through 7 degrees C in the center, to 9 degrees C in Lower Silesia. The wind intensified. From the west, it blows moderately, and at times quite strongly, with gusts accelerating to 60 kilometers per hour.

Saturday it will also be cloudy with rainfall of 5-15 l/sq m, locally up to 15 l/sq m. There will be showers in the west of the country in the second part of the day. Thermometers will show a maximum of 5 degrees C in the northeast, through 7 degrees C in the center, to 9 degrees C in the southwest. The north-western and western winds will turn out to be quite strong in most of Poland with gusts up to 40-60 km/h, in the southern part of the country it will be periodically strong, reaching up to 80 km/h.
