Weather for winter holidays. Students from several voivodeships are just finishing their winter holidays, while others are just starting. What surprises does the weather have in store for them in the coming days? Will there be snow? Check the latest forecast.

Winter holidays are underway in Poland. On Sunday, January 28, students from the following voivodeships will graduate. Lower Silesia, Masovian Voivodeship, Opole Province and West Pomeranian Voivodeship. On Monday, January 29, students going to schools in the province will go to rest: Lublin Province, Łódź, Podkarpackie, Pomeranian and Silesian.

From January 22 to February 4, holidays last in the following provinces: Podlasie and Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.

What does the weather have in store for the coming time? On Saturday, Poland will remain under the influence of the low pressure from the Baltic Sea. A zone of thick clouds, i.e. a cold atmospheric front, is expected to extend over the eastern half of the country, where wet snow and sleet are expected to fall. Another portion of cold polar air will flow from the north. However, a calm high-pressure system is expected to approach from the west.

In the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Lower Silesia and Opole Voivodeship there will be heavy cloud cover with clear weather. However, in Warmia, Masuria, Podlasie and Mazovia, we will have cloudy weather with wet snowfall of up to 1-5 centimeters. It shouldn’t rain in the Sudetes, but in the Carpathians there will be snow up to 5 cm and even 10 cm from time to time. There will be cloudy weather with some clear spells at the seaside, and in the area of ​​the Bay of Gdańsk there will be light snowfall and rain.

Thermometers will show 2-3 degrees Celsius in the province. Warmia-Masuria, Podlasie and Masovia, through 4-5 degrees C in Lower Silesia and Opole, to 6-7 degrees C in Western Pomerania. At the seaside it will be about 5 degrees Celsius, and high in the mountains about -5/-10 degrees Celsius. The wind will blow from the west and north-west, moderate and quite strong, with gusts of up to 60-80 kilometers per hour, especially strong at the seaside. High in the mountains, gusts can reach up to 80-100 km/h.

Weather for Sunday, January 28

On Sunday, high pressure will cover our country, bringing less rainfall and clearing. It will locate over Central and Eastern Europe and remain in this region of the continent for several days. It will also enable the inflow of warm air from the southwest, from Spain. Pre-spring weather is coming.

On this day, there will be heavy cloud cover and clear weather in the province. West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Warmia-Masuria Voivodeship, Podlaskie Voivodeship, Lower Silesia Voivodeship, Opole Voivodeship and the Sudetes. In Masovia and the Carpathians it will be mostly cloudy.

The maximum temperature will range from 3 degrees C in Podlasie, Warmia and Masuria, through 5 degrees C in Western Pomerania, to 6 degrees C in Lower Silesia and Opole. At the seaside it will be about 5 degrees C, and high in the mountains about 0/-5 degrees C. There will be variable, weak and moderate winds.

Weather for Monday, January 29

Monday will be mostly cloudy. Greater sunshine is expected in the Carpathians and the Lublin region. In the province Light rainfall is possible in the Łódź region.

The thermometers will show from 4 degrees C in Podlasie, Warmia and Masuria, through 5 degrees C in the Łódź region, Lublin region, Podkarpacie, to 6-7 degrees C in eastern Pomerania and Silesia. By the sea, the value on thermometers will be about 6 degrees C, and high in the mountains about 1-7 degrees C. The wind will be south-west and south, weak and moderate, in the north it will be quite strong at times, gusting over the sea to 50-60 km/h.
