Heavy rain hit the residents of eastern and southern Poland on Monday. In the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, rain flooded the access road to a kindergarten. The intervention of firefighters was necessary and they evacuated the children using a pontoon.

Evacuation from kindergarten

Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Kielce reported that 72 interventions were carried out in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in connection with storms, mainly in the Busko and Kazimierz counties. In Kazimierz Wielka, rain flooded the access road to a kindergarten where 40 children and their guardians were staying. Firefighters came to the rescue and transported the youngest children to a dry place using a pontoon.

It was also dangerous in one of the kindergartens in Kielce, where the ceiling in one of the rooms broke due to heavy rainfall. At the time of the incident, the room was empty. Firefighters reported that no one was injured.
