There is a warm atmospheric front over the north-western and northern parts of the country, expressed mainly by greater cloudiness, and in the western part of the coast by rain – tvnmeteo.pl forecaster Arleta Unton-Pyziołek reported on Monday.

She added that behind the front, tropical air is flowing from the south, the source of which is the Western Sahara. The inflow of heat is supported by the Olli High from its center over the Balkans.

On Monday morning, the weather is mostly sunny, only in Pomerania, Kujawy and Greater Poland it is cloudy. There is rainfall on the Coast – from Świnoujście to Koszalin and Ustka.

At 6 a.m., the thermometers showed from 8 degrees C in Suwałki and Gdańsk, through 11 degrees C in Łódź and 12 degrees C in Warsaw, to 16 degrees C in Rzeszów and as much as 19 degrees C in Bielsko-Biała. According to the tvnmeteo.pl forecaster, in Podbeskidzie, in the Bielsko-Biała region, the wind blowing from the south increases the temperature.

On Śnieżka, thermometers showed as much as 11 degrees C in the morning. – This is an extraordinary value at an altitude of 1,600 meters above sea level – said Arleta Unton-Pyziołek. The average maximum temperature in April on this peak is about 1.5 degrees Celsius.

During the day, thermometers will show temperatures ranging from 21 degrees Celsius in the Szczecin Lowland to 29 degrees C in Lower Silesia.


On Tuesday, a very warm episode of April weather will end. This will happen as air circulation changes from south to west. The cold front, which is still over western Europe today, will begin to enter Poland from the west tomorrow. It will bring cooling to the Atlantic air mass, first in the west of the country, and later throughout Poland.

One step away from the heat on Sunday

On Sunday, the weather was sunny throughout the country. “It was very close to a hot day,” the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management wrote on social media.

The warmest synoptic station that day was Jelenia Góra, where 29.2 degrees Celsius was recorded. It was even warmer at the Dobrogoszcz telemetry station. There, the thermometers showed as much as 29.8 degrees Celsius.
