Two snowfall zones are moving over Poland. There are snowstorms in places, which significantly reduce visibility and worsen road conditions. The movement of fronts and zones of billowy clouds is accompanied by quite strong winds.
As tvnmeteo.pl forecaster Arleta Unton-Pyziołek informed, Poland found itself in a stream of very humid Arctic air with marine characteristics flowing from the north.
– Strongly uplifted puffy clouds form there, carrying light and moderate snowfall in spots. These clouds form strips of light snowfall, the expert said.
Intense snowfall has already occurred, among others, in Warsaw, in SilesiaPomerania and southern regions.

Where the snow falls
Around 9 p.m., two snowfall zones are moving over Poland.
– From Podlasie, through Mazovia, the Łódź region, to Lower Silesia, the Opole region, Upper Silesia and north-western Lesser Poland, there is a cold front with extensive puffy clouds and thunderstorms. There are heavy snowfalls up to 5 centimeters, locally heavier. Short-term snowstorms significantly reduce visibility and worsen road conditions, the forecaster said.
Behind the front there is another, smaller zone of moderate to heavy snowfall of up to 3-5 cm. – It stretches over the Coast, Pomerania and Warmia. It's heading towards Kujawy, Mazurka and northern Mazovia. It brings short-term snowstorms in places – added Arleta Unton-Pyziołek.
The movement of these snow fronts and zones of swirling clouds over Poland is accompanied by quite strong winds, with gusts reaching up to 60-80 kilometers per hour. On the coast, gusts reach 70-90 km/h.
