Wężewo. A 41-year-old man is dead. He died in a house fire

In Wężewo (Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship) a house burnt down in the morning. Firefighters rescued a man from one of the apartments, who, unfortunately, could not be saved. The circumstances of the fire are being investigated by the police.

On Monday (July 17) at 3.37 am, firefighters received a report about a fire in a multi-family house in Wężewo in the Pisz district. On the spot, during the search of the premises, they found one person without vital signs. They carried her out of the building.

– The man probably suffered from smoke inhalation. We started cardiopulmonary resuscitation, which we continued until the ambulance arrived. Unfortunately, we couldn’t save him – says junior brigadier Grzegorz Kuliś from the PSP District Headquarters in Pisz.

Chief Commissioner Anna Szypczyńska from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Pisz informs that the man was 41 years old.

“We are investigating the cause of the fire,” he says.

In addition to four hosts from KP PSP in Pisz, firefighters from TSO Okartowo, TSO Drozdowo-Zastrużne, TSO Orzysz and a host from the Military Fire Brigade in Orzysz also took part in the action.
