Bogumiła Wander was seriously ill before her death. She spent the last years of her life in a specialist centre in Konstancin, where she was provided with round-the-clock care. It was necessary – the speaker was struggling with Alzheimer's disease. Her husband, Krzysztof Baranowskifrom time to time he talked about the condition of his beloved. The deceased's loved ones did not speak out about the burial for a week. Questions were asked more and more often until the family decided to issue an official statement on the matter, which they sent to the media on August 6. As they said, the funeral will be private – neither the date nor the place of burial of Bogumiła Wander is known. “By decision of the family, the date and place of the funeral are not being made public through the media. In accordance with custom, an obituary is displayed in the church where the funeral mass will be held this week. In 2016, the legendary announcer spoke to the Plejada portal. She talked about what her career was like at the beginning. “I have rather positive memories of those years, I have nothing to complain about. We all knew each other, we liked each other. Many specialists worked with us. Of course, sometimes someone yelled at us… I remember Xymena Zaniewska warning us that if any of our eyelashes were too long, she would pull them out (…). Everything looked completely different then,” she confessed. In an interview with the Newseria portal, she confessed that she misses working in television, even though she left of her own free will“I miss television very much, I watch it non-stop, all the time, as much as I can. It's been my life since I was young, for many years. I left of my own accord, maybe too soon, I think, because I could have kept working,” she said at the time.
