Andrzej DomaÅ„ski added that the ministry is aware of “certain risks associated with this project”. – We do not want the prices of funeral services to increase – the minister added. Interestingly, when asked whether the allowance should be indexed, he replied that “there is no such need”.
Only on Friday, August 9, a draft amendment to the Act on Pensions and Annuities from the Social Insurance Fund was published, which assumes an increase in the funeral allowance by almost PLN 3,000 and covering the benefit with the mechanism Valorization. It has currently been submitted for consultation.
The funeral allowance is a one-time benefit
The current amount of the funeral allowance has been PLN 4,000 since 2011. In the project proposed by the Ministry of Family, Work and Social Policy, an increase in its amount to PLN 7,000 was described.
