At least at the XTB gala KSW 100 fans could watch three fights for championship belts, but the most important one was the last one – the fight of the Polish legend MMA Mamed Khalidov with the best welterweight fighter, Adrian Bartosiński. Mamed fought in MMA for the 48th time. The fight ignited the fans.
Mamed didn't listen to the coaches
As Khalidov explained in a conversation with us, he still wants it, he still enjoys it, even though he knows that the finish line is close. Into the cage at the anniversary gala KSW He left in a great mood. He high-fived the fans who cheered as he went to put on another show. A show with Adrian Bartosiński, 15 years younger and a decisive candidate for victory.
Khalidov wanted to put on a show. And he gave it. Already in the first action he made a spinning kick, which Bartosiński caught and knocked Mamed to the ground. However, little came of this work on the ground, although Bartosiński was the favorite in this area. They both stayed on the ground until the end of the round and just before the final bell, they went to their corners smiling, joking to each other.
– Don't do spins – Khalidov heard during the break. “Asking Mamed not to make turns is like forbidding Pavarotti to sing,” summed up one of the KSW commentators.
Mamed started the second round – and how! – from a spinning kick, which Bartosiński didn't catch this time, but it didn't make much of an impression on him. However, the competitor from Olsztyn was getting weaker with every second of this duel. The much younger Bartosiński was clearly faster, he was constantly moving forward and putting pressure. It seemed that he would win this fight. But then the exhausted Khalidov managed to overthrow his rival and found himself on top. He quickly took the back and managed to put on the canopy. Bartosiński tapped out. It was a shock for him.
The rival couldn't stand it. Tears were shed
– I trained with European and world champions, and no one ever submitted me with an armbar – admitted Bartosiński after the fight. After the victory, Mamed jumped over the cage and fell into the arms of good friends and players – Jan Błachowicz, Łukasz Jurkowski and Artur Szpilka.
– I'm happy. I was hungry for this fight, I enjoyed the preparations and I want to fight the best – said Khalidov and at the same time praised his rival. He admitted that he felt his strength in the clinch, and Bartosiński's punches weighed a lot.
Bartosiński interrupted his interview after a few sentences. The emotions were so strong that tears fell from his eyes. He covered himself with his hand and went to his loved ones. Mamed tried to console him. This was Khalidov's 38th win and Bartosiński's first defeat.
