Górnik Zabrze went to Cologne during the international break, where Lukas Podolski said goodbye. And in the 12th round of the Ekstraklasa he had to play against Stal Mielec, which had been playing since August match with Lech Poznań (0:2) enjoyed the undefeated status in the top league (two wins and one draw).
What happened in the match Górnik Zabrze – Stal Mielec. Two goals in seven minutes
There was a lot going on on the pitch from the very beginning, and both goalkeepers were forced to put in the effort. Michał Szromnik defended the shot of Maciej Domański and Mateusz Matras, while Jakub Mądrzyk, among others, hit Podolski. It must have been over halfway through hoursfor someone to take the ball out of the net.
Yosuke Furukawa took the ball into the penalty area and played towards the goal. Luka Zahović was waiting there and with a sliding shot he beat the Stal goalkeeper. A few moments later, he could have scored a double, but after his spectacular shot, the ball was caught by Mądrzyk.
Zabrze stayed in the lead for just seven minutes. Then Krystian Getinger crossed from a corner kick, and Piotr Wlazło jumped into the air and scored with a header. The score remained 1-1 until the break, largely due to the excellent performance of the Mielce goalkeeper, who coped with Podolski's difficult shot (although the German skidded a bit).
An incredible goal by Damian Rasak in the match Górnik Zabrze – Stal Mielec
After the game resumed, the match was still lively. Mądrzyk had to prove himself when Erik Janża shot, but a few moments later he didn't have much to say when Damian Rasak scored. He made a brilliant shot from the air after a cross from the above-mentioned Janża. – What did he do? – Canal+ commentators were excited.
In the 67th minute, the hosts had a great chance to increase the score. Mądrzyk's performance was not good, and Norbert Wojtuszek beat one of Stal's players. However, with a practically empty goal in front of him, he shot wide from a dozen or so meters.
But this is nothing compared to what Ravve Assayeg did shortly thereafter. He received a great cross from Getinger, but from a very close range he missed the ball with his head. – Robbed of an assist – commented the commentators.
Later, Furukawa carried out another dynamic action, and Janża's header from Matras off the goal line was cleared. But that wasn't the end of the experience, another goal was scored in added time. Zahović then took over the ball and played it with Patrik Hellebrand. He scored the match from close range.
