We are facing big changes in the weather. From Sunday there will be more and more rainfall, and next week will bring snow in many places in Poland. The rainfall mix will cause very difficult road conditions, and with gusty winds, even short snowstorms are expected.

– Poland is under the influence of the Pauline low-pressure vortex from Scandinavia. The air will be moved and the wind will blow stronger. Warmer air will flow from the southwest, says tvnmeteo.pl forecaster Arleta Unton-Pyziołek.

Saturday will be cloudy with some showers and clear spells. Initially, there will be light rainfall in some places in the east of the country. The maximum temperature will range from 7 degrees Celsius in Podkarpacie, Lublin and Podlasie, through 8 degrees C in the center of the country, to 9-10 degrees C in the west. The wind will be southwesterly, weak and moderate, sometimes quite strong in the north and west, gusting to 50-60 kilometers per hour.

Precipitation with strong winds

Sunday will be cloudy, and it will clear up in the south-east of Poland. Rainfall of up to 1-10 l/sq m will move from the west into the country. Thermometers will show from 5-6 degrees C in Warmia and Podlasie, through 7 degrees C in the center of the country, to 9 degrees C in Podkarpacie. Snowstorms and front after front

– The next day our country will begin to be affected by another low, smaller but very dynamic. The associated atmospheric front will enter Poland from the west with wet snowfall turning into rain, the forecaster announces.

As he emphasizes, the first snow in the lowlands in the autumn-winter season usually poses a great threat and causes communication difficulties. – The difficult situation will remain because after one front passes, another one will enter from the west with intermittent sleet and snowfall. With strong winds blowing from the west and north-west, there will be short-lived snowstorms on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday and on Wednesday, which may be quite a challenge, says Unton-Pyziołek. – Typical pre-winter weather will arrive – he adds.

Tuesday will bring cloudy weather. From the west, wet snowfall of up to 5 centimeters will advance into the country, turning into sleet and rain. Total rainfall will be 15 l/sq m. The thermometers will show from 3 degrees C in Podlasie, through 6 degrees C in the central regions, to 8 degrees C in Silesia. The wind will be west and south-west, quite strong, gusting to 70-90 km/h in the west, and above 100 km/h in the mountains.

On Wednesday it will be cloudy with more showers. In the north and south of Poland, from 1 to 5 cm of snow will fall, and there will also be snowfall and rain. The maximum temperature will range from 2 degrees C in Warmia and Podlasie to 6 degrees C in the center of the country. Moderate and quite strong winds will blow from the west, gusting to 60-80 km/h.
