Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued heatwave alerts for almost all of Poland – except for the north-west. On Friday, the maximum temperature during the day may reach 32 degrees Celsius in some places. Warnings in the central, eastern and western parts of the country are of the second degree on a three-degree scale. In the south of the country, warnings of a lower, first rank were issued.

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued warnings against approaching storms for the provinces: West Pomerania, Greater Poland, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Pomeranian and Lubuskie. Thunderstorms are forecast, which in places will be accompanied by heavy rainfall of up to 35 millimeters and gusts wind up to 70 kilometers per hour. Locally possible small hail. Warnings valid until 23:00.
The Storm Observers Network reported that “a cold atmospheric front will enter Poland on Friday. Further storms will develop during the day, sometimes violent. They will generally be isolated, as in previous days. Their speed of movement will be low. The greatest activity should be expected in the afternoon and evening hours, and thunder may also occur at night.”
It was added that “the greatest threats will be heavy rainfall that may cause flooding and inundation, especially in urban areas. Weather forecast for the weekend
On Saturday, weather forecasters predict more clouds and rain in the center and south of the country. The rest of the country will be sunny and still hot. “Sunday will be cooler in the whole country, with occasional rain and storms only in the southeast. Monday, the first day of the school year, will be the warmest in the south of the country, but there may be occasional rain and storms there,” according to announcement issued by IMWM.
