Thunderstorms of weak and moderate intensity occur over Poland on Sunday. They are accompanied by rainfall in the order of 5-15 liters of water per square meter and wind speeding up to 60-70 kilometers per hour, Artur Chrzanowski, the forecaster of tvnmeteo.pl, informed about 2.15 pm.

It thunders in the province Lower Silesiain the area of ​​Prusice, Oborniki Śląskie and Wołów.

When it’s thundering and we’re away from home, the Government Center for Security (RCB) recommends:

◼ quickly find a safe haven;

◼ avoid hiding under trees;

◼ avoid being outdoors. If you are already on one, you need to find a lowering in the area and crouch (do not sit or lie down) with your legs together and pulled up. The legs should be brought together as in the case lightning strikesas a result of the voltage difference (the so-called step voltage), current may flow between the feet;

◼ if you are in water or on a boat, go ashore and away from water as it is a very good electrical conductor;

◼ avoid touching and staying near objects made of metal, because they can “attract” lightning;

◼ stay in the car (if we are in it) because it provides good protection against lightning;

◼ crouch down immediately if you feel electrical charges in the air and your hair is standing on end;

◼ people staying in a group in the open space should disperse over a distance of several dozen meters so that in the event of a lightning strike, part of the group could help the affected.
