Inflation is high across Europe. On the occasion of International Pizza Day, which falls on February 9, Eurostat decided to show, on the example of this popular dish, how prices have increased over the past year.

Eurostat data show that the prices of frozen pizza and kish (short dough with vegetable filling) were on average as much as 15.9% higher in December 2022. higher than in December 2021. For comparison, the price increase between December 2020 and December 2021 was only 2%.

According to the data of the office, the largest increase in the prices of pizza and kish bought in the store was recorded on Hungary – 46 percent, Lithuania – 39 percent and in Bulgaria – 37 percent

At the other end, i.e. the countries with the lowest growth, are Luxembourg – by 7%, Italy – 10 percent and France – 13 percent
