A room that does not heat well or has leaky windows may need an additional heat source in winter. This is where a portable electric heater comes in handy. There are many different models on the market – each has its strengths but also limitations. Here is an overview of several different models from the cheapest to the most expensive.

HB CFH1503M fan heater, an inexpensive way to heat quickly

For less than PLN 140 we get quite a clever device. HB fan heater quickly heats a small room. Just turn it on and after just a few minutes it becomes pleasantly warm. This is perfect for when you come back to the cold apartments and we want to raise the temperature quickly.

The equipment has two heating modes – we can save electricity by using half power (750W) or accelerate heating at full power (1500W). The thermostat will ensure that the temperature in the room remains constant. There is also protection against tipping over, which will be appreciated by parents of small children. Cons? Like a fan heater – you can hear the fan's noise during operation, and when you turn it off, the heat escapes from the room quite quickly.

GÖTZE & JENSEN OH701 oil radiator – a solid heat source

We move to a higher price range – for about PLN 220 we get a classic oil radiator. This is a completely different heating philosophy. OH701 it needs more time to warm up, but then it holds the temperature for a long time. Even after switching off, it continues to provide pleasant warmth for a long time. The noise is practically inaudible – simply comfortable heating.
