A wild white stag has been shot {dead} by police after it was seen operating round residential roads in Bootle close to Liverpool.

Merseyside Police mentioned they acquired many calls from individuals who had seen the animal on the streets on Sunday morning.

However in a press release Merseyside Police mentioned: “A number of enquiries had been made to seek out an organisation who may help with recovering the deer safely, however sadly we had been unable to get help and because the hours glided by the deer grew to become extra distressed.

“There was no choice to let the deer wander because it might be a hazard to motorists and members of the general public within the space, significantly because the midnights approached.

“In consequence a call was made within the early night to euthanise the deer.”
