I can't remember when the PiS chairman said something good about a country. Everyone is bad, everyone is bad – said the Marshal of the Senate Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in “Fakty po Faktach”. She referred to Jarosław Kaczyński's statement about the President of Germany, who came to Poland on the anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising to apologize. The TVN24 guest also referred to the potential candidacies of the Civic Coalition in next year's presidential elections.
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier asked for forgiveness for German crimes during ceremonies commemorating the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising on Thursday. He added that Germany can never forget the events of August 1, 1944.
The president referred to this speech PIS Jaroslaw Kaczynski. He said he did not know whether the German leader's visit on the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising “was not premature”. – I hope it was only 10 years premature. Because we have to get what we deserve in the moral sphere, but also in the material sphere – he assessed.

Kidawa-Błońska: you have to somehow fix the bad things you did
These words were commented on in Saturday's edition of “Fakty po Faktach” by the Speaker of the Senate Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska. – I think it's very good that the German president was in Warsaw on the anniversary of the outbreak of the uprising. And it's good that he said these words at the monument: I'm sorry – she said.
– 80 years. I think it's time to say very loudly: we're sorry. We will remember and make sure that awareness of what happened during World War II in Poland, in Auschwitz, in Treblinka, in Warsaw, is common among Germans, that they know this true history – she declared.
As she added, “of course, one must somehow repair the bad things that have been done.” Kidawa-Błońska stated that expecting compensation for those who survived the uprising and concentration camps is “natural” and “should happen.”
Kidawa-Błońska: Kaczyński has no idea what he wants to achieve in Poland
Referring directly to the PiS chairman's statements about other countries, Kidawa-Błońska stated that “in fact, for the last eight years, chairman Kaczyński has been constantly disrespecting and insulting our neighbors.” – He did not hold talks with our partners in Europe. He has constantly addressed that part of Poles who actually listen to him and believe that he is giving them solutions: if we are closed, if we have no contact with the outside world, we will be better off – she assessed.
At the same time, she added that “especially in today's times, when we have a war in Ukraine, when we need strong alliances so much so that we are not alone, because we will not be able to defeat and oppose Russia alone, we need partners”. – And if we do not talk honestly, honestly, on partnership terms with our neighbors – with the Germans, with the French, with the English, with the Baltic countries – then we will be alone – she pointed out.
As she added, “this is very bad, dangerous rhetoric of chairman Kaczyński”. – He is completely unaware (of this – ed.) of what he wants to achieve in Poland. He simply wants to isolate us from the world – emphasized the TVN24 guest.
Kidawa-Błońska said she could not recall “when the president said something good about a country”. – Everyone is bad, everyone is bad – she assessed.
– Maybe about Hungary? – asked Diana Rudnik.
– It also varies, she replied.
Sikorski, Trzaskowski or maybe Tusk? “We can say that we have three great candidates”
The Marshal of the Senate was asked who the Civic Coalition would nominate in next year's presidential elections. In this context, the host mentioned the names of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorskimayor of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski and the premiere Donald Tusk.
– This is the strength of our group, that we can say that we have three great candidates – she said.
– Rafał Trzaskowski is doing a great job, he conducted the previous campaign brilliantly, he was close. He is very well received at all meetings throughout Poland. Donald Tusk, who despite saying he would not run for office, is still being considered by people who ask if he might change his mind. And Radosław Sikorski has vast international experience. In such difficult times, this international diplomacy is also very much needed – she emphasized.
Kidawa-Błońska announced that “you will recognize the candidate after our National Council”. Asked when this will happen, she replied: “in the fall”. – I don't want to speculate here, because of course everyone is talking about Rafał and that is natural, but this is politics and this is a time when everything can change suddenly in a few hours – she said.
Referring to Sikorski's potential candidacy, the TVN24 guest said that “he seems to have a lot of sympathy and is highly valued as an experienced diplomat”. – A strong politician in international politics at a time when the country's security is very important, matters – she noted.
– Everyone has the right to say that they want to run for this mandate. We will choose the candidate who wins. Rafał Trzaskowski has been working and preparing to run in these elections for the last four years – added Kidawa-Błońska.
