What raises? ZUS estimates show that in 2025-2026 those entitled to widow's pension will gain on average approximately PLN 370 per month – said the president of ZUS Zbigniew Derdziuk. However, in the following years, benefits will increase on average by PLN 650-850.

Limits and rules of widow's pension: Maximum benefit amount may not exceed three times the amount of the minimum pension (currently it is PLN 5,342.88). If the total benefits exceed this amount, ZUS will reduce the benefit for the surplus. Widow's pension will be available to people who are at least 60 years old in the case of women or 65 years old in the case of men. Moreover, until the date of your spouse's death, you must remain married to him or be entitled to a survivor's pension after your deceased spouse (not earlier than before the age of 55 in the case of women and 60 years in the case of men). The right to the benefit ceases upon entering into a new marriage.
