Tragic accident on national road number 57 near Wielbark in Warmia and Mazury. The driver lost control of the car on a bend in the road and hit a tree. The 50-year-old died at the scene.
The accident occurred on Tuesday before 5 p.m. on national road number 57 near the town of Wielbark in Szczytno County.
– The driver of an Audi passenger car was driving from Wielbark towards Szczytno. After completing an overtaking maneuver, the man lost control of the vehicle on a bend in the road, then drove off the roadside and hit a roadside tree – said Senior Sergeant Emilia Pławska from the District Police Headquarters in Szczytno.

Emergency services provided first aid to the man on site. Unfortunately, the 50-year-old resident of the Wielbark commune died as a result of his injuries.

– Police officers worked at the scene under the supervision of the prosecutor. Officers set up detours for drivers through the towns of Kucbork and Jedwabno. The road was blocked until late at night. Szczytno detectives are conducting activities to determine the exact circumstances of this tragic event – informed Senior Sergeant Emilia Pławska.
