A 17-year-old girl in Skorzęcin (Wielkopolskie) drowned on Saturday after she jumped from a water bike into a lake without a life jacket.

Despite the actions taken, it was not possible to save the life of the 17-year-old girl who drowned on Saturday afternoon in a lake in Skorzęcin (Gniezno district, Wielkopolska). The girl was swimming on a water bike and at one point, without a life jacket, she jumped into the lake.

Junior cadet Łukasz Kędziora from the press team of the Wielkopolska police reported that the accident occurred at around 4 p.m. – The 17-year-old was swimming on a water bike and at one point jumped into the water without a life jacket. She disappeared under the water's surface. She was fished out by WOPR rescuers. Resuscitation was attempted, but unfortunately to no avail – he said.

In a daily report published Saturday morning, the Government Security Center reported that four people drowned across the country on Friday. As reported, since April 1, the Police Headquarters has recorded 126 drownings.
