A healthy girl was found in the window of life operating in the convent of the Antonine Sisters in Wieluń in the Łódź Province, the Catholic Information Agency announced on Tuesday. The condition of the newborn was good.
A spokeswoman for the Wieluń Police of St. Asp. Katarzyna Grela said that the person on duty received information about leaving the newborn in the window of life after 4 am. She added that it was a girl who was hospitalized. The doctors assessed her condition as good.
Parents who remain a child in the window of life are not threatened with legal consequences, policemen do not carry out any activities in terms of exposing the newborn to the risk of loss of life and health. A bag was left in the window of life next to the child, incl. with clothes, nappies and a pacifier.

After leaving the neonatology ward of the hospital in Wieluń, the girl will go to a foster family. However, biological parents who have left their child in the window of life, however, have six weeks to change their mind.
