Some time ago, Julia Wieniawa informed the media that she is no longer cooperating with the Kayax label.“I would like to inform you that as of today I have terminated my cooperation with the KAYAX label, i.e. Kayax Production & Publishing sp. z o. o. I will not comment on the statement I sent to KAYAX about the termination of cooperation, in this matter please contact my representative directly,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. As she claims, she is suffering the consequences of fighting with the record company that is blocking her song “Sobą Tak” on the streaming service.

Julia Wieniawa comments on her song being blocked. “I want to explain to you how it works”

Julia Wieniawa At the beginning of July she released the single “Sobą Tak”. The premiere didn't last long, as the Kayax label blocked the song, claiming that the singer was still under contract with them.“Julia Wieniawa signed a record contract with us in 2017 for the release of three albums. So far, she has released one – “Omamy” from 2022. (…) According to the current agreement, the next two albums should be released on Kayax, and not another label,” said the label's co-founder, Tomik Grewiński, in an interview with Onet. Ultimately, Wieniawa's song was removed from the popular streaming service.

As I told you on the day of the release, my former label Kayax put an unfounded block on the song. I want to explain to you how it works… Spotify has an internal policy that without any evidence and specifics, when someone puts a block – the song is extinguished within 48 hours. Thanks to your support, this did not happen and the song was still available. It was an exceptional situation. No one has 'blocked' Spotify before

– she revealed in an Instagram post. As it turned out, the record label had been trying to stake its claim to the song and block the single the entire time. For this reason, the streaming service decided to “temporarily suspend the song.” Wieniawa emphasizes that it is still available on other streaming services, and can be heard on the largest radio stations in the country and on television.

The block is unjustified and we are doing everything to get the song back on Spotify as soon as possible. (…) I try not to look at what unfriendly people are doing. I just do my thing. 'Sobą Tak' is a big success! Thank you for your support – I'm not slowing down and this month you'll hear two summer singles from me!

Julia Wieniawa's mother responds to the case. She is outraged

In an interview with Plejada, the singer's mother, who is also her manager, referred to the conflict with the former record label that represented her daughter in the past. Marty Wieniawa-Narkiewicz referred to the blocking of the song “Sobą Tak”, mentioning not only her daughter's lack of trust in the record label, but also Kayah's loud breakup with Kayax.

It is scandalous that the record company is attempting to block Julia's music unilaterally and without proper grounds, not taking into account that it is harming the good of the artist, his audience of the Polish music scene. (…) The block can be imposed without any reason, all that is needed is a report, even an unfounded one, as in this situation. Julia's decision to terminate the contract with the Kayax record company was justified and based on important reasons. What the Kayax management is currently implementing only confirms Julia's lack of trust in this entity. The methods used, attempts at intimidation and showing strength cannot be accepted. It is probably not without reason that, like Julia, its co-founder resigned from cooperation with the Kayax brand, which is common knowledge.

she added Julia Wieniawa's mother spoke to the portal.
