Pogoń Szczecin was literally one step away from changing its owner. The club almost fell into the hands of Canadian businessman Alex Haditaghi. On Boxing Day, however, an unexpected twist occurred. It turned out that the investor had not reached an agreement with all Pogoń's creditors and the negotiations came to a standstill. Two lenders did not agree to the terms presented, which was confirmed by the club itself in an official statement. The whole operation seemed to have collapsed, as Haditaghi himself suggested. Looks but the answer is that this is not necessarily the case.

On Thursday, the Canadian businessman issued a statement in which he made it clear that the transaction would not take place. – From the moment the talks began, his vision was clear: invest in the future of the team, strengthen its position in the… league and honor the city, her fans and her extraordinary legacy. Unfortunately, unyielding creditors and short-sighted financial demands brought these dreams to an abrupt end, jeopardizing not only the team's prospects but also the value of the creditors' investment – we could read. Now it looks like the case is not finally closed.
On Saturday new information Maciej Chudzik from the “My Portowcy” podcast reported on this matter. – From what I managed to find out, Alex Haditaghi is to appear in Szczecin on Monday to re-negotiate the takeover of Pogoń Szczecin – he wrote on the X portal.
In turn, according to the portal Meczyki.pl Haditaghi has not yet made a final decision about coming to Poland again. This one is supposed to fall on Sunday. Nevertheless, talks were to take place between the parties again, but the negotiations were not finally closed. Alex Haditaghi is interested in taking over 90 percent. shares. As he assured, in the first year after taking over the club he planned to invest almost EUR 20 million in it.
