The Prince and Princess of Wales are honoring Queen Elizabeth II in a particular approach.

On what would’ve been the late monarch’s 97th birthday, Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a never-before-seen household portrait of Her Majesty sitting beside a few of her youngest grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Alongside the photograph shared to their official Instagram April 21—snapped by Kate herself—they famous, “This {photograph} – exhibiting her with a few of her grandchildren and nice grandchildren – was taken at Balmoral final summer season.”

As for the royal breakdown of who precisely was in attendance? Although Queen Elizabeth had eight grandchildren, it was her youngest two—whose mother and father are Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh—which are seen standing within the again row: Lady Louise Windsor, 19, and James, Earl of Wessex, 15.
