Wincenty Grabarczyk, an actor known, among others, from the series “Klan”, died at the age of 91. Warsaw’s Kwadrat Theatre, where the artist has performed since 2001, informed about the death.

“Dear viewers, dear friends, it is with great sadness and regret that we would like to inform you that our dear friend and a great actor passed away last night,” the Square Theater in Warsaw wrote on social media, informing on Saturday about the death of Wincenty Grabarczyk, who on this stage has been performing since 2001. “Many times he testified to acting of the highest quality,” added the theater in the entry.

Vincent Grabarczyk. Who was?

Wincenty Grabarczyk was born on August 19, 1931 in Uhryń (today’s Ukraine). In 1953, he graduated from the Katowice Dramatic Studio, a year earlier he made his debut on the stage of the Silesian Theatre. He was an actor in theaters in Katowice, Zabrze, Sosnowiec and Gdańsk. From 2001, he performed on the stage of the Kwadrat Theater in Warsaw.

In the years 1993-96 Wincenty Grabarczyk was the artistic director of the Nowy Theater in Zabrze. He has acted in TV series such as “Klan”, in which he played the character of Jeremiah Bałucki, as well as in “Tenants” and “Close, getting closer”.

He appeared in many films, including: “Enchanted Bicycle”, “I’m Feeling Light”, “Ultimatum”, “Born for the Third Time”, “Long Live Love”, “Angelus”.

He was a three-time winner of the Golden Mask (Silesia). He also received a medal of Marian Mikuła – Meritorious for Theater Culture.
