What we are used to, i.e. reservations well in advance, are no longer a rarity – this is what Karol Wagner from the Tatra Chamber of Commerce says about this year’s holidays. Accommodation facilities in Zakopane are not fully booked. – The second week of the so-called Warsaw holidays turned out to be the best so far, when the occupancy rate was about seventy percent – he said.

– These holidays seem to be absolutely variable when it comes to tourist attendance in the Tatra Mountains. What we are used to, i.e. reservations well in advance, are no longer a rarity, and the reservation window has become smaller, said Karol Wagner from the Tatra Chamber of Commerce (TIG).

Average stay in the Tatra Mountains

He pointed out that guests book their stay as short as two weeks or even a few days in advance. – It will not be a very good season – he said and added that the second week of the so-called was the best so far. Warsaw holidays, when the occupancy rate was approximately 70%. According to hoteliers near Giewont, the first week of the holidays was average in terms of tourist attendance, but it was not bad. Although there is no shortage of snow in Podhale, according to Wagner, the lack of snow in other regions of Poland changes the demand for winter recreation. – It is optimistic and surprising that the length of the holiday stay is increasing despite market instability. Last year, the average stay in the Tatra Mountains was four days. Currently, the average is four and a half days, Wagner said. He added that many families come to the Tatra Mountains for week-long stays and spend their holidays taking courses in ski schools for children.
