Wisconsin deputy harm with ‘edged weapon,’ fires gun throughout altercation

Wisconsin authorities are on the lookout for a suspect following an assault on a deputy who discharged her weapon through the incident. 

A Dane County Sheriff’s deputy referred to as in photographs fired whereas investigating a suspicious individual at Festge County Park. A suspect injured the deputy by attacking her with an “edged weapon,” the sheriff’s workplace stated. 

The deputy, who was not recognized, fired her weapon through the incident. Authorities couldn’t say whether or not or not the suspect had been shot. 

Authorities additionally didn’t say what number of photographs had been fired.

The suspect fled on foot and has not been arrested as of Friday afternoon. The deputy was launched from hospital after receiving remedy for non-life-threatening accidents, division spokesperson Elise Schaffer advised Fox Information. 

The Wisconsin Division of Justice, Division of Prison Investigation is working with the sheriff’s workplace on the investigation.

The suspect is described as a male final seen in black pants and a black hoodie. Authorities have requested for anybody with data to contact the police or Dane County Sheriff’s Workplace. 

The Middleton-Cross Plains College District introduced Friday morning that college students on the native elementary and center faculties would stay below a “constructing maintain,” with police stationed at every college, whereas the suspect stays on the unfastened, The Wisconsin State Journal reported.
