We have a comprehensive plan for the Polish countryside – declared PSL president Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. He argued that one should vote for his party, because it guarantees cheap, Polish, good, healthy food. The head of the People’s Party also criticized the government for the influx of millions of tons of grain from Ukraine and appealed: – We must save food security, production security.
President Polish People’s Party Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz spoke on Saturday at a conference in Janowiczki, in the commune of Racławice (Lesser Poland), after the meeting of the Supreme Council of the party.
As he said, farms such as the one in Janowiczki, where the meeting took place, function in difficult conditions. Nevertheless, he emphasized, they focus on modernization and renewable energy sources. According to Kosiniak-Kamysz, the two “strong legs” of Polish farms are food production and the production of cheap green energy.
He argued that it is necessary to stabilize agricultural income. This can be helped, among other things, by supporting the repayment of loans whose installments are high in connection with inflation. According to the PSL president, bureaucratic procedures in obtaining subsidies for farmers should also be simplified. The People’s Party also wants farmers to be shareholders in companies that process and sell food.
Kosiniak-Kamysz: Why vote for PSL? To have cheap, Polish, good, healthy food
– We have a comprehensive plan for the Polish countryside – said Kosiniak-Kamysz. – Why vote for PSL? Why PSL? To have cheap, Polish, good, healthy food – he argued, emphasizing that the party has experience in this matter, professionals and combines tradition with modernity.
Criticizing the government for the influx of millions of tons of grain from Ukraine the head of the People’s Party reminded that PSL had warned against this. As he said, on July 15, the party submitted a law on the introduction of a deposit-refund system. – We called the commissioner [europejskiego komisarza do spraw rolnictwa i rozwoju wsi, Janusza – przyp. red.] Wojciechowski, the Minister of Agriculture in Poland, to take action, designate a port, introduce deposits, monitor trucks crossing the Polish border – he enumerated.
Kosiniak-Kamysz also said that the head of the Association of Fruit Growers of the Republic of Poland, MP Mirosław Maliszewski, indicated that processing plants would not buy soft fruit, such as raspberries, blueberries or strawberries, because they had full warehouses of frozen fruit bought from Ukraine. – This also got into Poland in an uncontrolled way – pointed out the head of the PSL.
“We have to save food security, production security,” he appealed.
He also said that the party expects the EU Commissioner for Agriculture, Janusz Wojciechowski, to European Union will make an immediate intervention purchase of grain for needy African countries.
“We are divided by power”
The president of the Polish People’s Party also appealed for support in the parliamentary elections in the fall. – A strong people’s, national, European party is needed. It’s PSL, he said.
He also assessed that the ruling camp had divided Poles. – We are divided by the power that has adopted as its principle and domain: to rule and divide. Divide so as to rule as long as possible – he said.
