Two people required medical attention after a fire broke out on the top floor of a skyscraper in Włocławek in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. At the peak, 10 fire brigades were involved in the operation.
A report of a fire in an apartment in a high-rise building on Kaliska Street in Włocławek was received by the services at 7:30 p.m. The fire broke out on the top floor of the building. Residents also heard explosions coming from the premises.
As reported by the officer on duty at the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Włocławek, two people were injured in the incident, who suffered from smoke inhalation. – One of them is a tenant of the apartment where the fire occurred, and the other occupies the premises opposite. The remaining residents of the building left it on their own – he reported.
– The fire has already been contained and is not spreading – assured the firefighter at 8:30 p.m. – On-site inspection and extinguishing of the apartment is underway, which was very cluttered, which made it difficult for rescuers to move around in it. The roof of the building, where the flames reached, is also being checked – he explained.
He added that at the height of the fire 10 fire brigades were involved in the operation.
