A cyclist died after being hit by a 47-year-old woman driving a passenger car in Plebania Wola (Lubelskie Province). Initial police findings indicate that the man forced the right of way, and the woman's drug test came back positive.
The tragic event took place on Thursday (September 19) after 6 p.m. in the town of Plebania Wola in the Parczew district in the Lublin region.
According to initial police findings, the 48-year-old cyclist, when leaving a side road, forced the right of way and caused an accident with a properly driving Audi driven by a 47-year-old woman.
The cyclist died as a result of his injuries.
Positive drug test result
According to the police, the driver of the car was sober. “She was subjected to a drug test with a positive result. In connection with the above, blood was taken from the woman for testing,” we read in the police statement.
The woman's driving license and registration certificate were confiscated, and the vehicle was impounded in the police parking lot.
The body of the deceased cyclist, by decision of the prosecutor, was secured for an autopsy. At the scene of the accident, police secured traces that will help determine the course and circumstances of the accident.
