The police suspect that the driver was a 23-year-old man who had two active driving bans. On a straight section of the road in Wólka Dobryńska (Lublin Voivodeship), the car he was traveling in drove off to the side of the road, hit a metal barrier and a concrete culvert, and finally landed in a ditch. Two people were taken to hospital. There were drugs in the car.
The services received the report on Wednesday (January 1) before 5 a.m. The accident occurred on a straight section of national road number 2 in Wólka Dobryńska.
Preliminary findings show that the driver of the Volkswagen Passat drove off to the side of the road for unknown reasons, hit a metal barrier and a concrete culvert, and finally stopped in a roadside ditch.
They probably weren't wearing seat belts
“As a result of the incident, two people suffered injuries: a 20-year-old and a 23-year-old. They were both outside the wreck of the damaged car. They were probably not wearing seat belts during the incident,” writes the superintendent. Barbara Salczyńska-Pyrchla from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Biała Podlaska.
A 20-year-old and a 23-year-old were taken to hospital. Blood was taken from them for testing for prohibited substances.
They found marijuana
Initial police findings showed that the car was driven by a 23-year-old man.
“The man has two active driving bans on his account. Additionally, during the activities carried out both on the 23-year-old and in the car, green herb was discovered. After conducting a preliminary examination, the police confirmed that it was marijuana,” notes the superintendent. Salczyńska-Pyrchla.
The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
