Five people were injured and transported to hospital as a result of an accident in Wołkowyja (Podkarpackie Voivodeship). According to the police, the driver of the passenger car – most likely wanting to avoid a collision with the truck – left the road and fell down the slope.
The accident happened on Thursday (July 20) around 9.30 am in Wołkowyja (Lesko poviat) on national road No. 894.
– Preliminary findings of the police officers working at the scene of the accident show that the driver of the Ford, trying to avoid a collision with the truck driving in the opposite direction, fell off the road and fell off the slope – said Katarzyna Fechner, the press officer of the Poviat Police Headquarters in Lesko.

She added that the witnesses – drivers who were driving behind the truck, show that the vehicle was going too fast and “too wide” entered the turn, turning into the opposite lane, cutting the road for the passenger car.
The truck driver, according to the uniform, left the scene. “We’ll look for him,” Fechner told us.
Five people were transported to hospitals
Five people, three women and two men, were injured in the crash, police said. – One of the injured people was transported by helicopter of the Polish Medical Air Rescue to the hospital in Sanok, the rest by ambulance to the hospital in Lesko – the press officer of the Lesko police told us.
Police officers are working at the scene, securing evidence that will help clarify the circumstances of the incident.
