The Ophthalmology Clinic in Katowice invites you to free vision screening tests for children and adults, and the Orchestral Tram with volunteers and Vikings will travel around the city. Other cities of the Silesian Voivodeship are also preparing for the 30th Final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. Concerts will be held in Sosnowiec, and runners will set off on the route to deal with diabetes.
In the Silesian Voivodeship, the 30th Final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity will be held – traditionally – in Sosnowiec. On January 30, on Górka Środulska, the concerts on the big stage will begin at 15. Blue Cafe and Feel will be the stars.
“Throughout the day, numerous events will take place around Górka Środulska. A colorful bus will travel around the city, with a mobile can in it. This should make it easier for residents to contact volunteers” – informs the GOCC staff in Sosnowiec. And invites residents to create a common “human” inscription “30 years of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity”.
Already at At 10, accompanying events will begin: Run Count with Diabetes, Fancy Dress Birthday Party with a competition for the most beautiful eye mask, Volunteer Fire Brigade show, performances by children and youth from schools and kindergartens in Sosnowiec, animations for children, fairs with handicraft gadgets, auctions.
There will be 40 phantoms at the First Aid Academy, including a dog phantom, so pet owners will be able to learn how to save their pet in a crisis. They also organize Light to Heaven so that the animals do not suffer in the presence of noise – bang-free fireworks will be used.
Sight screening, cardiology and diabetes screening
This year, the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity will play under the slogan “Przegląd na Oczy” – to ensure the highest standards of diagnostics and treatment of eyesight in children. That is why on January 30, Katowice invites you to free vision screening tests for children from three years of age and adults. The action “Ceglana game for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity” will take place at the University Clinical Center. prof. K. Gibiński of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice at 35 Ceglana Street from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Additionally, thanks to the support of the Upper Silesian Children’s Memorial Health Institute for children, cardiology and diabetes clinics will be opened. Advice for adult patients will also be provided by an oncologist and geneticist. You will also be able to check your blood sugar and measure your blood pressure.
Attractions are also announced. An anatomical site will be created in the Medical University of Silesia Library. The participants of the event will have at their disposal anatomical models (including life-size skeleton and torso with removable organs, hand, eye and ear model), 3D anatomical atlas and anatomical charts.
There will also be a library stand for the visually impaired. In the teddy bear laboratory, children will be able to learn about the procedure and technique of blood collection, as well as get a taste of the work of a hematologist and microbiologist. The three-generation teams of the Oncology Foundation “Rakiety” will be building the greatest glasses of hearts. At the hairdressing stands, you will be able to treat yourself to a new hairstyle and top up the WOŚP piggy bank.
A stage will be set up in the green area of the hospital. From 12 organizers invite you to majorettes, vocal and theater performances. The CREE team will be the star. The event will end at 18 mini Light to Heaven.
Orchestral Tram and a record-breaking heart
On January 30, the Orchestral Tram will appear on the streets of Katowice. From 12, you will be able to meet him on the route: “Zawodzie” Transfer Center – Wolności Square. It will stop at selected stops, where volunteers as well as medieval warriors and Vikings will disembark from the vehicle. You will be able to take a picture with them and throw the donation into cans. Due to the pandemic situation, it will not be possible to ride.
Katowice will try to break the record by sewing the biggest heart for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. To take part in the game, you just need to take a piece of cloth from your home and bring it to the gymnasium of primary school No. 13 at Wróblewskiego Street on the final Sunday between 10 am and 6 pm. The piece is sewn by hand to the whole piece and we receive a special certificate of participation in breaking the world record.
40 hearts in Pszczyna, a scarf of 30 inhabitants of Częstochowa, a portrait of Lewandowski
On January 30, events under the banner of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity will be held in many cities in the Silesian Voivodeship. A week ago in Pszczyna, 40 orchestral hearts were hung over Bankowa Street. During the 30th Final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity they will be auctioned.
30 women from Częstochowa will put up a very long scarf for auction – they expect it to be 30 meters long. Each knitting at home is its own piece. They will meet on Saturday, the day before the final, to sew the pieces together.
Maja Cimcioch, a student from Zabrze, put up an image of Robert Lewandowski for auction. She managed to get the footballer’s autograph. The picture made in pencil technique, using high-quality Caran D’Ache crayons, signed by Lewandowski, can be purchased on the Allegro website. It has already reached the price of PLN 5.3 thousand. The auction ends on February 2.
In Zawiercie, there are plans for, among other things, sailing, sports competitions, a self-defense course, fire fighter shows, a military stand, workshops and figure skating shows. Thanks to the Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie club, you can become a PlusLiga volleyball player – just take part in the auction. The last offer is PLN 13,100, a the auction ends on Wednesday at 9 p.m.. “We also have a ball autographed by Iga Świątek and a CD with the autograph of Kaśka Sochacka” – encourage staff from Zawiercie.
WOŚP will play for the thirtieth time
The final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity is a one-day public fundraiser, organized by the Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy Foundation.
During the 29 Finals of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, the Orchestra collected and spent over PLN 1.5 billion to support Polish medicine and purchased over 67,300 devices.
The 30th Final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, under the slogan “Przegląd na Oczy”, will play on January 30, 2022. The money will be collected for equipment that is to ensure the highest standards of diagnostics and treatment of eyesight in children.
