The 31st final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity in Warsaw will be marked by concerts, sports competitions and charity attractions. 16 artists will play on the main stage at Plac Bankowy, there will also be “Light to Heaven”. You will also be able to see the performances live in the WOŚP tent at Plac Defilad. For fans of physical activity, the “Count with Diabetes” run and numerous football tournaments are prepared. There will also be breaking a record in rowing and jumping from a 40-meter skyscraper.
The 31st finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity plays under the slogan “Live healthy in a healthy world”. The collected funds will be used to fight sepsis. As the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity emphasizes – this year the Orchestra plays for everyone: small and large.
16 concerts at Plac Bankowy
There is already a concert stage on Plac Bankowy, where on January 29, i.e. on the 31st Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, a total of 16 concerts will be played. Performances are scheduled to start at 1:40 p.m. The last artist will take the stage at 21.40. They will play, among others: Tense, Stowy Pal Asia, Pull The Wire, Kirszenbaum, Kashell, Żurkowski, Hańba!, Blenders, Dagadana, Gutek and WaluśKraksaKryzys and Transgresja.
At 8 p.m., the culminating moment of the final is planned, i.e. “Light to Heaven”. Later in the line-up there were also Mrozu, Dziwna Spring, Dirty Shirt and LemON, whose concert will end the whole event.
Admission to the concerts at Plac Bankowy is free. Anyone interested can view them.
Concerts in the TV studio of the 31st Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity finals
Simultaneously, the concerts will also take place in the TV studio of the 31st Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity on Plac Defilad. Some of the artists from Plac Bankowy will appear there, as well as Orkiestra Nadarzyn, Kiernozianie and Voo Voo.
The TV studio of the GOCC final is open to the public. Anyone can visit them, but a certain number of people can stay inside. Those interested in visiting Plac Defilad should take into account that admission may be preceded by waiting in a queue.
Run “Count Your Diabetes”
At noon on January 29, the “Count with Diabetes” run starts. Its route is five kilometers. This year, the start and finish will be located at Plac Bankowy. Participants will run along the following streets: Senatorska, Wierzbowa, Moliera, Miodowa, Długa, Podwale and Krakowskie Przedmieście. The start of the competition is at 12.15.
Registration for the run lasts until January 28, 3 p.m. via Slot Market. The limit of participants is five thousand people. Anyone who cannot take part in the competition in the center of the capital can join the Virtual Run on their own. What is it about? From 23 to 29 January you should go jogging. We do it anywhere and anytime, the only requirement is to run a minimum of five kilometers. Participants of both runs make a donation to the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity in the amount of PLN 65, which is the symbolic price of the starting package.
Sports tournaments, breaking records in rowing and jumping from a skyscraper
In addition to concerts as part of the 31st Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, there will also be events organized by individual staffs. Some of them – organized for example by schools or companies – are closed events. In the capital, however, there is no shortage of proposals that each of us can take advantage of.
In the Remont music club, on Friday, January 27 at 7 pm, a series of performances organized by the District Bar Council in Warsaw begins. Di Anti, The United Tears, SORG, Decade of Four and I Don’t Remember will play. The concerts are charity, which means that you can take part in them after paying a donation in the WOŚP can at the entrance to the club.
In Atrum Targówek, the 13th edition of the nationwide rowing record breaking action for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity will take place. The organizer of the event is Dom Kultury Świt. The event starts at 10 am on Saturday, January 28. In total, residents of 10 Polish cities take part in breaking the record. At the same time, they will compete in a rowing ergometer competition. The winner will be the city where the largest number of people will appear in the designated shopping center and each of them will cover a distance of 500 meters.
In Bielany, the “Together for Bielan” Association is planning a GOCC Football Tournament. On Sunday at 9.30, children from 2014 and their parents will compete in the football competition. The event takes place at Orlik at Rudzka. Prior registration is required. The entry fee is PLN 250 to the WOŚP can.
The same association is also preparing a swimming competition “We swim for children until the end of the world and one day longer”. The competition is aimed at children born in 2014, 2015 and 2016. The competition starts at 10.30 am in the CRS Bielany swimming pool at Lindego. Registration is kept by the Student Sports Club “G-8 Bielany”.
The Białołęcki Sports Center offers rides on the historic Berlin tram, i.e. the K403 car. On the day of the final, it will run on the tram line number 2 on the Metro Marymont – Pętla Winnica route. The vehicle will be covered with the hearts of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. Anyone can take it on a free journey.
The open football tournament is organized by MKS Grochovia in Hala Siennicka. It will also be accompanied by other attractions related to sport and a healthy lifestyle. The event starts at 10 am on Sunday, January 29.
Dom Kultury Świt invites you to jump from a skyscraper. Around 10 a.m. daredevils will be able to jump from a 40-meter building in Wawrzyszew. The condition for participation is to bid a jump at the auction. Those interested can buy the opening jump and the remaining jumps scheduled for the next hours.
