On Sunday, the whole of Szczecin will be filled with the music of local bands. They will play at the Słowianin Cultural Center, Nowa Dekadencja and Stara Łaźnia in Łasztownia. Szczecin residents will also be able to take part in the run, seek advice from doctors and specialists, look at the city from the terrace of the Maritime Science Center, and bid on attractive items. All this will be crowned with the traditional “Light to Heaven” as part of the 33rd Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity and a collection for children's hematology and oncology.

This Sunday, “Light to Heaven” will shine from the terrace of the Maritime Science Center in Szczecin. However, before this happens, the inhabitants of Szczecin will have a whole day full of experiences planned by the local staff of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity will perform for 18 children's wards, 17 hospices, five oncological neurosurgery centers, six oncological surgery centers and four pathology centers. With the money collected, the Orchestra intends to purchase devices such as: laparoscopic sets, neurosurgical exoscopes, intraoperative tomography devices or oxygen concentrators, anti-decubitus mattresses.
Local stars, auctions and a 5 kilometer run
As in previous years, Szczecin will not have one main event as part of the final. Nine city headquarters will take care of the organization of the accompanying events: the School Complex of the Szczecin TPP Foundation, the Szczecin-Pogodno ZHP Troop, the “TAK” Primary School, TKKF “Orkan”, the Sports Education Center, Make It Funky Production, the Sports Championship Center, the Szczecin ZHP Troop and CH-R Galaxy. They will organize their own unique attractions: concerts, meetings, shows and auctions.
Every year, the largest and most popular auctions take place at the TKKF “Orkan” headquarters, located in the Stara Rzeźnia Euroregion Cultural Center in Łasztownia. This year, the auctions will include: mountain bikes, tools or vouchers. Local bands will play on the Stara Rzeźnia stage from 12 p.m. until the evening, including: The Final Countdown Orchestra or Power Supply.
An important element of the Szczecin finals is the annual “Count with Diabetes” run, organized by the Szczecin Artistic Agency and the Maratończyk Team Szczecin Runner's Club. Runners will compete against each other in Łasztownia, as always, divided into age categories and different distances. The 5-kilometer main run for adults will start at 12.
The program also includes medical rescue demonstrations and presentations on water, prepared by the Volunteer Water Emergency Service.
On the day of the final, the terrace at the Maritime Science Center will be open to Szczecin residents with a beautiful view of the Chrobry Embankments and the Castle Route. It is from there that the traditional “Light to Heaven” will shine at exactly 8 p.m.
Another of the most popular events in Szczecin is the one organized every year by Make It Funky Production. Its events take place in two places: the Słowianin Cultural Center and the Nowa Dekadencja Szczecin Cultural Center.
Local artists will perform on the stages of both locations. Auctions will be held between performances. Both events start at 12 noon. The schedule of concerts at Nowa Decadence has not yet been made public.
