Overtaking in a prohibited place and turning against the order – among other offences of this type, a 39-year-old motorcyclist from Wrocław committed. The man also refused to stop for inspection. In total, he received tickets for the amount of PLN 4,750 and 65 penalty points.

The police intervention took place over the long weekend. On national road no. 94 in the Środa district, officers noticed a motorcyclist who was overtaking cars without paying attention to the applicable signs.

“The police immediately gave chase, activating their lights and sirens to stop the driver. However, this did not bring the intended effect, and the driver continued to pose a threat not only to himself, but also to the passenger he was transporting,” said Sergeant Izabela Jasińska from the District Police Headquarters in Środa Śląska.

The motorcyclist stopped only when the police car blocked his path. He explained that he did not see or hear the policemen's signals.

“The 39-year-old was fined PLN 4,750 and given 65 penalty points for failing to comply with the B-25 'no overtaking' sign three times, overtaking at a pedestrian crossing and failing to comply with the P-8b 'left turn required' sign,” said Sergeant Izabela Jasińska.

The policewoman warned that motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable to injury in the event of an accident. She said that excessive speed and recklessness can lead to tragedy.
