During the intervention after the celebration of the Police Day in Wrocław (Lower Silesian Voivodeship), the attacker injured the policeman’s hand with a knife. The event took place in front of the National Forum of Music.
Spokesman for the Lower Silesian Police, staff assistant Łukasz Dutkowiak, told the Polish Press Agency that on Thursday, after the celebrations in connection with the Lower Silesian Police Day celebrations, there was a dangerous situation in the square in front of the National Forum of Music in Wrocław.
He attacked a policeman with a knife
A policeman intervened against a man who had a knife. “The perpetrator attacked the intervening policeman with it, but the effective actions taken by him led to the incapacitation of the attacker and his arrest” – said Dutkowiak.
“Bystanders were not injured”
The spokesman added that during this intervention, the police officer was injured in the hand. “His health is currently not in danger. Thanks to his immediate reaction, bystanders were not injured” – said the spokesman.
The police are working with the arrested attacker.
