On Saturday, the 15th Equality March is going through Wrocław. The organizers have announced about 10,000 people. The demonstrators want minorities to be more protected in the public space. The demands also included access to abortion and reliable sex education in schools.

Saturday at On the 15th, the Equality March started from Plac Wolności in Wrocław. This is the 15th edition of this event. The organizers announced the participation of about 10,000 people.

“This march cannot be stopped! Our stubbornness in the fight for equal rights for all cannot be stopped. Our hope that we will win this fight cannot be suppressed!” – announced the organizers of the event.

The procession goes along Modrzejewska, Świdnicka, Piłsudskiego, Kołłątaja, Piotra Skargi streets, through Plac Dominikański and further along Oławska and Kazimierza Wielki Streets. Then the March will turn around and, through the streets of Święty Mikołaj, Kazimierza Wielki and Zamkowa, it will return to Wolności Square. The procession is expected to end before 6 p.m. 19.

Although the culminating part of the event is the march itself, the Town of Equality has been operating on Wolności Square since the morning. The organizers informed about their demands on social media. “We demand an immediate cessation of hate propaganda in public space,” they pointed out. And they added that they also want to amend Art. 119 of the Penal Code and adding homophobia, transphobia and hate speech towards people LGBT+ as grounds for discrimination. They also demand simplification of legal and medical procedures in the process of gender recognition for transgender people, as well as reliable sex education in the curriculum.
