An indictment was brought to court against a woman and two men for operating in a criminal group in which they encouraged prostitution and derived financial benefits from it. The defendants were also charged with crimes against sexual freedom and decency.

On Monday, June 17, the spokesperson of the District Prosecutor's Office in Wrocław, Prosecutor Anna Placzek, announced that an indictment had been sent to the District Court in Wrocław against three people suspected of leading and participating in an organized criminal group, which they created in the years 2018-2022 in Wrocław, Wołów and other places. One of the people was also charged with illegal possession of ammunition.

They recruited women and posted ads on the Internet

“In order to conduct criminal activities, the defendants, aged 50 to 23, rented apartments, including in Wrocław, where the women they recruited provided sexual services. The women were organized, among other things, photo sessions in order to obtain materials necessary to place advertisements offering sexual services on the Internet. The accused also provided women practicing prostitution with, among others, mobile phones and SIM cards for making appointments with clients,” the spokeswoman explained.

The maximum penalty for the suspects is 10 years' imprisonment in the case of the leader of an organized group and 5 years' imprisonment in the case of the remaining members of the group,” the spokeswoman added.
